Context

This project is part of the renovation of the Place Feydeau – Commerces in the center of Nantes carried out by Nantes Métropole. The works required an underground technical room allowing the maintenance of the fountains of the square. In order to carry out the coffering of the facility, a temporary support in sheet piles of seven meters deep was necessary.

Presentation of the works

The temporary structure to be built was a rectangular sheet pile excavation held in place by two levels of walings with struts. The sheet piles were installed by vibro-driving in alluvial soils.

The worksite could be carried out despite its location in the heart of the city of Nantes, which presented several constraints for the delivery of the material as well as the presence of sensitive structures nearby.
